Our REGISTRATION DESK will open on Friday at 5pm till 9pm. We will be here all day Friday though, so if you want to come along earlier, please do, but be warned, we’ll only make you help. Let us know before hand, if you want.

The first thing that will be open will be our MAKEUP ROOM of the DEAD, we will have set up this room  with a number of Make Up points. We will have make up here for you to use, all weekend. There will be material that will help to make your face look like a ruin and at times, we will have ‘Dead Makers’ in there helping.

If you want some makeup, just for yourself, SNAZAROO is what we use, and its very good. But we have quite a bit. Along with sponges, brushes, and mirrors.

Our “Opening Ceremony” is on FRIDAY in the ALT  at 19:00. We will of course delight you with rules, such as ‘you may congregate in corridors’ and introduce you to some immediate and visceral gore – don’t worry we will warn you – and there will be singing and chanting and no doubt some running about and we will rope our guests into something.  This will finish at about 20.30 ish. So you can get ready for -  

DJ DoMinator will be powering up the Hi-FI system (Dolby) and banging out a few eighties tunes no doubt, to accompany the finery that we expect that will be on show. Dress to impress as we say, and do make an effort, it all helps. Keeping that in mind, be kind if you are dead.

Following the disco we will have “Re-Animating the Dead” MAIN 00:30. Three men will be on hand, to show you the pleasures and pain of attempting to jolt some life into a dead body with some direct current. High voltage shocking fun here.

Meanwhile,   in the ALT  at 10:00  we will have a relaxing talk concerning “Weird Shit about death through the ages”. This should be graphic and vulgar no doubt, but no physical blood will be spilling.

 AT 11:00 in the Main we will be having a talk about “Exorcism”. David Devereux and Douglas Spencer will be chatting about this subject, in some detail.

At the same time 11.00 over in the Alt room  we will be having the “Helicopter Debate”. This is not a discussion about whether Airwolf would kick Blue Thunders rotary hide, nor is it going to be arguing with remote controlled helicopters, no, this is a game, and it shall be fun as you plunge to your doom. 

On SAT  in the MAIN  at 12:00  we will have Stuart Conran “Making Up The Dead”. This is really exciting. Here we will have a true professional, with dozens of movies under his belt, taking his time, working on some random muppet, showing us all how to turn ourselves into realistic looking zombies. Even though they are fictional. Learn tricks, and how easy it is to suddenly become quite rotten. When this finishes, we expect an exodus to the make up room, so we are giving this extra time and Stuart and other dead makers will no doubt be on hand to help and give pointers in the make up room at some point.

Meanwhile over in the ALT  at 14:00 “Teledu of the Dead” will be taking place. Teledu is the stinking badger of somewhere or another, Drogheda perhaps – but those who know the power of the badger will know this will be amazing fun and games.

Stef had this great idea, it sounds really great, and he decided to turn it into a programme item, its on SAT in the MAIN  at 15:00  and its called “The Regeneration Game”.  Some of our guets will be roped into it, as will a few of YOU,  and it should be fun.

Meanwhile, in the ALT on Saturday at  15:00 Dr. Emma King will be giving her wonderful  “Time Travel Talk”. This is our nod to serious science and science fiction even.

“The Rankin and Devereux Hour” will see both these guest take the chair, and chat about their next work, which in a single strike of lightening and considerable synchronicity, both fantastic Authors have books in the pipeline with an undead element. We hope they will be giving a reading and generally chatting together and sharing this with you.  This is on SAT in the  MAIN at 16:00

In the Alt we will have a “Kids Party” an opportunity to remind yourself why being a kid was really fun, and try and forget the horrors of school, parents and exams.

At 17:00 in the main, we will have  “Dead Good Films” this is a fantastic selection and discussion of some seriously good zombie movies, clips and shorts. We have been given some really surprisingly good shorts, by directors which we hope you enjoy. There will also be some of the people behind those shorts along too. Zombie Ed will host, and show some of his mad clips/films too.

Between 18:00 and 20:00 we will have no official programming running. In the MAKEUP ROOM of THE DEAD we expect things will be busy, and a number of people will be about to help and advise. In saying that we expect some people will keep the horrors secreted in their rooms. We hope that lessons learnt from Stuart Conran, will be applied liberally, all in preparedness for....

 “Dead Can’t Dance” Disco at 20:00 in the main room, DJ DoMinator will turn up the tempo a little and we will have guests looking at your efforts to dress up as your favourite Zombie or horror story. They will be noting names, so wear your badge, and prizes will be up for grabs.

“Loving the Dead” will be the subject of our late night panel, at 00:30. A panel of experts will be talking about this interesting, if sordid and unpleasant subject.

On SAT in the MAIN at 01:30, we will be playing  Zombies, the board game, and this may extend into the bar.

First off on SUN in the  MAIN at 10:00  we will have “I’m a survivor – get me out of here” Whereas on Saturday it was a debate, today, we produce infra red helicopters and set tasks for those who wish to take part in this game of escape, piloting and Survival skills. Protective equipment will be provided, to protect from rotars and flying plastic.

Meanwhile there will be a pointyhead gathering in the ALT room at 10:00. Yes, this is a  Sproutlore Meeting, where blood will be shed and no doubt in the dawn of the day, as it is, a new sun shall rise. Or something. It’s only a hobby you know.

SUN MAIN at 11:00, professionals who have some experience “Working with the Dead” will be chatting about their experiences and also lessons learnt. Insights into how the body works once the soul has left this mortal coil will be spilled like a gushing vein.

 “The 5 Best and Worst Zombie Movies… Ever?” will be shown in the Alt at 11:00. This shuffle of zombie flicks should have something for everyone.

On SUN in the MAIN  at 12:00 Al Davison will be joined by some hardcore comic fans, who will be looking at “Comics for KidUlts”. This is more a talk about what we are missing, rather than whether comics are a maligned medium, mistaken by the mainstream as a childish popcorn, when we know it is a literary mine of ideas and ceoncepts. 

“Zomb-Olympics” is not a reflection on Irelands efforts this year, nor a comment on Paul Radcliff, rather it is time to do your best for your team, The UNDEAD. Slip Disc throwing, the long leap and such events as throwing the hammer at the zombie,  this will be outside at 12.00 regardless of weather.

 “Jesus – the First Zombie?” is a genuinely puzzling question that our panel will look at. If you can put your hand through a hole in his side, is it time for a shotgun? Discussions begin at 14.00 in the alt room.

There is nothing like the medical profession to instil a real feeling of fear, and here our experts talk about “Horrible Ways to Die” / “Real Zombies”. Are there drugs out there that can revive the dead, or worse turn one into an undead? What nasty diseases make having your entrails munched on by your mom, look quite delightful. At 15:00 in our main, a serious scientific look at horrors.

 “Production of the Dead” will look at working in the Zombie Movie Business. We will have professionals and part timers discussing their experiences and looking at local as well as international trade. This may be accompanied by some footage, at 16:00 in the Main. 

ON SUN  at 16:00, Matt will be returning so he can do some “Traumatizing Children with Cartoons”. It’s hard when the fluffy beaver eviscerates the Moose, especially when they all look, just so nice.

 “The Great Zombie Debate” will be a serious discussion about whether we think the likes of ‘RAGE’ is really a zombie affliction, and whether zombies can run or walk, or open doors, and whether it’s ‘fair’ that now zombies can run after you, when really they should be braindead. This is one of our final panels, at 17:00 in the main.

If serious discussion and venting your spleen is not for you, then vent some anger and violence in “Mall Mania”, Don’t worry, we have a first aid kit, the weekend is just over, and anyhow, we have errr, protective equipment, so that as you defend yourself, or take a beating, we may well be already on the way down the M6. This will be at 17:00 in the alt room, the one with the GURNEY.

The  “Closing Ceremony and Raffle” and perhaps a special one item auction will take place at 18:00 in the main room. By this stage we hope you will have enjoyed yourselves and feel very dead.

After the usual bunch of thank you’s, prize giving’s and mentions of future events, there will be a gathering in the bar, starting about 19:00  known as the “Undead Dog Party”.
